Domaine Hubert & Laurent Lignier

A new addition to the Arvi portfolio, Hubert Lignier is one of the two Lignier domaines in Morey St. Denis. For many years, Hubert had a reputation of producing exceptional, almost magical wines. But tragedy struck when his son, Romain, the domaine’s winemaker, unexpectedly passed away and the domaine was temporarily divided up between his widowed daughter-in-law and himself. With no help to make the wine and many less vineyards, the domaine struggled for multiple years. However, when Hubert was able to recuperate the majority of his vineyards, his other son, Laurent, began helping him after he finished oenology school. In 2011, they introduced organic growing methods, and each year the wines keep getting better. Today, Hubert and Laurent produce a notable 24 wines from 9 hectares of vines. This is one domaine on the rise!
